St. Charles Parish government and United Way of St. Charles have collaborated to install fitness pads at the East Bank and West Bank bridge parks. The East Bank Bridge Park is at 13244 River Road in Destrehan, and the West Bank Bridge Park is at 13825 River Road in Luling.

Exercise stations at the fitness pads include chess press, leg press, elliptical trainer, rowing machine and multigym. Recycled rubber tile surfacing provides padding at the exercise stations.

United Way of St. Charles also sponsored the installation of a new water fountain, fitted for filling water bottles, at the West Bank Bridge Park levee path.

In all, the fitness project cost $60,000.
