The New Orleans Police Department plans to hire 150 new officers in 2014, and will be holding a recruitment event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Langston Hughes Academy, 3519 Trafalgar St.
More than 150 potential recruits attended a recruitment event in January. People planning to attend the June 7 event are encouraged to preregister by visiting nola.gov/joinnopd or by calling NOLA 311.
“Public safety is our top priority, so we’re committed to recruiting the best and brightest to safeguard our city,” Mayor Mitch Landrieu said. “Our team specially designed this event to attract local candidates and to open the door for our residents to consider the police department as a promising option to grow their careers.”
The Join NOPD Recruitment Event is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office, the NOPD Recruitment Office and the city’s Office of Workforce Development.
