According to a report on Yahoo!, Louisiana is the second most lightning prone state in the country behind Florida.

The report says "since 1959 there have been 142 lightning fatalities and the county with the most lightning-related incidents is East Baton Rouge Parish."

The severe weather and lightning that struck the Baton Rouge area on Tuesday sparked a house fire in University Club, electrical damage at Dick’s Sporting Goods and other issues.
