New Orleans Police received reports of three armed robberies Sunday night in different parts of the city.

The first occurred around 8:30 p.m. in Gentilly. NOPD said the 26-year-old woman was taking items out of her car in the 400 block of Piedmont Drive when she was approached by man who pointed a gun at her. The woman ran inside, and the suspect fled in her red 2003 Dodge Ram 1500.

Then around 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of St. Phillip Street near Armstrong Park on the edge of the French Quarter, a 46-year-old man was approached by an armed man who demanded the victim's bag. The victim complied, and the suspect fled. But NOPD later caught the suspect, who's identified as 27-year-old Elgin Sharper.

The third incident happened at midnight in the 3800 block of Banks Street in Mid City. The 25-year-old man was approached by two men, one of whom struck the victim with a silver revolver and took $200 and the victim's cell phone.
