New Orleans police are asking for help finding 25-year-old Ashley Wooten, a woman wanted in connection with a robbery that happened Jan. 18 in New Orleans East.
A 25-year-old man told police he was approached by Wooten about 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 12300 block of the Interstate 10 Service Road. Moments after he started talking to her, a man walked up, implied he had a pistol in his pocket and demanded money, according to Officer Frank Robertson, a Police Department spokesman.
Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over $160 in cash. He then drove with Wooten to an ATM in the 7000 block of Bullard Avenue after the robbers demanded they get more cash, police said.
According to Robertson, the victim withdrew $200 in cash and gave it to Wooten. He then drove her back to the apartment complex, where she and the man fled in a black SUV.
The unidentified male robber is described as a black man with a muscular build and light complexion. He was wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
