The Sewerage & Water Board has announced construction projects that will cause traffic disruptions and low water pressure in parts of New Orleans this week:

Conti Street between Chartres and Decatur streets in the French Quarter will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday as workers install a fire service.

Customers in a small portion of Uptown will experience low water pressure from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday as workers replace a fire hydrant. The affected areas are along Huso and Short streets between St. Charles Avenue and Leake Avenue and along Pearl Street between Huso and Adams streets.

Both lakebound lanes of Calliope Street between Camp Street and St. Charles Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of sewer work.

Parts of Carrollton will experience low water pressure from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday or Sunday while crews repair a series of water line valves in the area. The streets affected are as follows:

Saturday: Adams Street between Zimpel and Jeannette, Oak Street between Adams and Lowerline, Cherokee Street between Oak and Zimpel, Willow Street between Adams and South Claiborne, and Plum Street between South Carrollton and Pine.

Sunday: South Carrollton Avenue between Spruce and Apricot.

Louisiana Avenue lakebound at Carondelet Street will have a temporary lane closure Saturday and Sunday because of drainage work. A detour will be in place from St. Charles Avenue to La Salle Street.
