Authorities in St. Charles Parish have arrested seven people in connection with the suspected drug-related killing of a New Orleans man in St. Rose.

Sheriff’s Office deputies found Richard Bailey, 21, shot multiple times at about 5 a.m. Monday on Kennedy Street. He died at the scene, St. Charles Sheriff Greg Champagne said.

Those arrested so far are Joseph Fountain, 19, of New Orleans, booked with first-degree murder; Johan Wetwiski, 19, of New Orleans, booked with principal to first-degree murder; Anthony Rotondi, 21, of New Orleans, booked with principal to first-degree murder; David Hunter Jr., 17, of St. Rose, booked with possession with intent to distribute and attempted distribution of Schedule I drugs; Pedro Furlan Jr., 19, of Harvey, booked with possession with intent to distribute and attempted distribution of Schedule I drugs; Courtney Ward, 18, of Metairie, booked with attempted distribution of Schedule I drugs; and a 16-year-old juvenile from New Orleans, booked with principal to first-degree murder.

Additional arrests are expected, Champagne said.
