Police name suspect in Algiers shooting _lowres

New Orleans Police have identified a suspect in the Monday morning shooting of a 17-year-old in Algiers.

Detectives are looking for Kareem Richards, 19, who they believe is responsible for the shooting. Witnesses helped detectives identify Richards as a suspect, according to police.

The incident occurred Monday morning around 7:30 when a Landry-Walker High School student, who remains unidentified, was shot in the middle of an apartment complex parking lot in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive in Algiers.

Police said he died shortly thereafter.
