License plate recognition system helps locate suspect in fatal shooting _lowres

The victim in a fatal shooting Saturday afternoon in Harvey has been identified and a suspect arrested after being located with the help of the automated license plate recognation system in the area, according the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Kenneth Clark, 28, of 810 Bellville in Algiers, was found shot multiple times in front of 4249 Lac Bienville Drive in Harvey. A ski mask covered his face.

Witnesses reported seeing a man leaving the scene of the shooting in a blue Ford Taurus. Using the automated license plate recognition system, detectives were able to trace the vehicle to its owner, who reported that her brother had borrowed the car Saturday. After questioning the brother, Reginald Bradley, 28, investigators arrested him and booked him on one count of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Clark.

The Sheriff’s Office said both the suspect and the victim had extensive prior criminal histories.
