Man killed Saturday in 6th Ward shooting
A shooting Saturday night in the 6th Ward left one man dead, New Orleans police said.
The incident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Johnson Street.
Officers who arrived on the scene after receiving reports of shots fired in the block found only shell casings and learned that the victim had been transported to a hospital by a private vehicle, police said.
He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and died at the hospital.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive and who was responsible.

Man shot in St. Roch armed robbery
A man was shot Sunday morning during an armed robbery in the St. Roch neighborhood, New Orleans police said.
The 33-year-old victim was walking in the 1700 block of St. Roch Avenue about 5 a.m. when he was approached by a man holding a gun. The man pointed the weapon at him and said, “Drop everything,” according to police.
After the victim emptied his pockets, the man ordered him to run, then shot him while he fled.
Man robbed at gunpoint in 7th Ward
A 29-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night in the 7th Ward.
After the man got off a bus at New Orleans and North Galvez streets about 10 p.m., two unknown men approached him from behind, police said. One was armed with a semi-automatic weapon, and both demanded the victim’s property. The pair took items from his backpack and fled.
Armed robbery reported in Metairie
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an armed robbery Saturday afternoon in Metairie.
The robbery happened just after noon in the 3400 block of the South I-10 Service Road.
No other information was immediately available.
