A 36-year-old Laplace man died early Saturday morning after a traffic crash on Interstate 10 West near West End Boulevard, New Orleans Police said.
The motorcyclist was driving westbound on I-10 West near West End Boulevard around 1:38 a.m. when he lost control and rear ended a 2012 Ford Edge, New Orleans Police spokesman Officer Juan Barnes said.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his motorcycle, landing in the right should lane, Barnes said.
Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the investigation is still ongoing, Barnes said.
Hit-and-run crash reported Saturday morning
A pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said.
The pedestrian was hit around 6:21 a.m. at Houma Boulevard and Interstate 10 Service Road, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato said.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, Fortunato said.
No further details were reported.
