Cancer Crusaders raised $206,509.49 this past year to support cancer research at the LSU Health Sciences Center and Tulane Cancer Center. The donations were presented during a luncheon April 11 at Andrea’s Restaurant.
The guest speakers at the luncheon were Dr. Victoria P. Belancio, assistant professor of structural and cellular biology at the Tulane School of Medicine, and Dr. Adam Riker, a surgical oncologist with LSUHSC.
Cancer Crusaders is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization with no administrative overhead, and it is not affiliated with any other cancer fund-raising organization. Since 1978, it has raised more than $3 million for cancer research.
