Zea Rotisserie & Grill plans to close its 1525 St. Charles Avenue location in New Orleans, the restaurant announced in a press release Monday. The official last day of operation will be on Sunday, June 21.

The St. Charles location has been in business for 10 years, having opened on Aug. 1, 2005, and reopening on Dec. 7, 2005, after Hurricane Katrina.

“While our intention is to stay in New Orleans, we were unable to come to a long-term lease arrangement at St. Charles,” said Paul Hutson, vice president of operations for Taste Buds Management, operator of Zea Rotisserie & Grill. “We appreciate all of the relationships we have developed within the community over the past 10 years, and we want to thank our patrons and staff for their continued support.”

He said the company is actively searching for an alternative location, and that employees in good standing have been transferred to other Zea Rotisserie & Grill locations. Other Zea Rotisserie & Grill locations include Metairie; Harahan; Covington; Harvey; Kenner; Slidell; Lafayette; Baton Rouge; and Mobile, Ala.

In addition to Zea Rotisserie & Grill, Taste Buds Management also operates Mizado Cocina and Semolina restaurants.
