• DELGADO EXTENDS FALL DEADLINES: Delgado Community College announces an extended registration period for the fall 2015 semester. Registration will continue through Aug. 21. Students will have an additional three days to be admitted to the college and register for classes. “We want to make certain that everyone who makes the decision to be with us as a student this fall has enough time to complete the registration process and get started on achieving their goals,” said Delgado Chancellor Joan Y. Davis. Admission to Delgado is non-competitive, making higher education accessible to anyone with a high school diploma or the equivalent. Working students have the opportunity to earn an associate’s degree in two years by taking only weekend classes at the Delgado City Park Campus in New Orleans. Enhanced employment opportunities or transfer to a four-year college await those who choose this option. Founded in 1921, more than 17,000 students attended Delgado in the fall of 2014. Delgado offers instruction at nine locations, including the City Park, West Bank (Algiers), Sidney Collier and Charity School of Nursing campuses in New Orleans and locations in Slidell and Metairie.
