First Baptist Church of Luling welcomes pastor

The Luling First Baptist Church has a new senior pastor. The Rev. Tim Buford, originally from Livingston, Tennessee, began leading the congregation this month.

Buford is married to the former Karen Brumfield, of Denham Springs. They have seven children.

Buford received a bachelor of science degree from Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in psychology and economics. He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary for the majority of his pastoral studies, but completed with a master of divinity from Trinity Theological Seminary in Pastoral Ministry.

Buford has served as a senior pastor in Mississippi and Florida as well as a youth minister for several years.

In 2003, he and his family answered a call to the International Mission Board as church planters in Ukraine and India, serving until 2009 before returning to the United States.

More recently he has been serving as pastor of a church in Tennessee.
