Authorities are searching for a man they say robbed a Central Business District bank on Wednesday morning.
The man walked into the Crescent Bank and Trust, 1100 Poydras St. at Loyola Avenue, about 10:15 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, said Mary Beth Romig, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s New Orleans office. The man walked out of the bank with an unknown amount of cash and headed toward South Rampart Street, Romig said.
The FBI described the man as being in his 50s with a slender-to-average build. He wore a gray, long-sleeved shirt; blue jeans; reading glasses; white tennis shoes and a dark Saints hat.
Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to call the FBI at (504) 816-3000 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the man.
