The National Alliance on Mental Illness New Orleans will have Angela Hill as honorary chair of its NAMIWalk on Oct. 11 in Audubon Park. The event will feature live entertainment at the Newman Bandstand with food and fun for the whole family.

NAMI New Orleans, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, offers hope, help and healing to people with mental illness — and to those who share their lives — through family support, education and advocacy and quality psychosocial services.

“I applaud what NAMI New Orleans has done and is doing for the greater New Orleans area,” said Hill, a longtime WWL anchor and reporter. “The walk is a fantastic event that allows us to raise public awareness about mental illness, something that touches the lives of one in four Americans within a given year.”
