Westwego High School’s last graduating class holds 60-year reunion _lowres

Members of the Westwego High School Class of 1955, the school’s last graduating class, held a 60-year reunion recently at the Tournament Players Club.

“Remember Miss Townes making us ride our bikes in precision drill in the gym?” Faye Schexnayder LeBlanc asked.

The reunion was planned by class members Lloyd Giardina, Gerald Constant, Yvonne Nalesnik, Faye LeBlanc, Wilton Dufrene, Alice Majorie, Peter Palmer and honorary member Marion Giardina.

Dufrene, a barbershop quartet singer, provided entertainment, including “I’m Still Havin’ Fun,” by Joe Liles, of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
