An electrical fire in a downtown hotel forced guests to evacuate the building and find an alternate place to spend the night, according to a New Orleans Fire Department press release.
Around 8 p.m. Saturday night the NOFD received a call from the La Belle Maison Hotel at 209 Magazine St. in downtown New Orleans.
Firefighters found a working electrical fire in the main room housing the hotel's electrical panel. The power to the building was shut down as a portion of the response team worked to contain and suppress the fire.
Entergy was called to the scene to assist in the mitigation of the incident and advised the NOFD officers that the hotel guests would have to find another place to sleep, at least for Saturday night, the press release said.
The fire was brought under control around 9:30 p.m. and there were no injuries reported.
