Two men sought for questioning in the death of 11-year-old Arabian Gayles were being interviewed by detectives on Thursday evening, New Orleans police said.

Romalis Williams, 20, and Ronell Martin, 17, arrived at the Police Department’s 2nd District station a short time after they were named people of interest in the case. Neither man is a suspect but might have information about the shooting, police have said.

Arabian and several other people were inside of her home in the 1300 block of Gen. Ogden Street when several people walked up and opened fire just after midnight on Sept. 2, police have said.

Arabian died several hours later at Interim LSU Public Hospital. Her 11-year-old cousin and a 38-year-old man who also were in the house at the time of the shooting were treated for gunshot wounds and later released from the hospital.

Police previously spoke with 33-year-old Keith Ward, another person of interest. He has not been named a suspect in the case.

Police have not identified a motive in the shooting.
