Duke is a retired Air Force Reserve brigadier general who was selected as an astronaut in 1966. He was on the astronaut support crew for Apollo 10 and was capsule communicator between the crew and mission control for Apollo 11, the first landing on the Moon. Duke served as lunar module pilot of Apollo 16 and spent more than 20 hours exploring the Moon. As a speaker, he inspires others to reach their goals and beyond. He also will speak at a prayer breakfast in Mandeville at 7 a.m. Friday, April 10.
