A man police say may be connected to the armed robbery of the Snowizard sno-ball stand on Magazine Street is also wanted in connection with a business burglary that took place in July on Napolean Avenue.
Police are asking for help finding 51-year-old Michael Gambino, so detectives can question him about both crimes.
The business burglary took place July 2 at Saint Georges School located in the 900 block of Napolean Avenue. At approximately 7:40 p.m., police said Gambino was seen on the school’s surveillance video system jumping the fence and entering the school.
He was then seen walking up the stairs inside the school and fleeing the scene with stolen computer equipment.
Police got an arrest warrant for Gambino for simple burglary after investigating the incident.
When officers apprehend Gambino, they plan to question him and determine if he’s responsible for the armed robbery of the Snow Wizard snoball shop.
That incident happened Wednesday night in the 4000 block of Magazine Street. Police said an armed man approached the stand with a gun about 6 p.m. and demanded money. When an employee rushed to the back of the business, the man swiped cash from the tip jar before fleeing.
Second District detectives are investigating the Napolean Avenue burglary and can be contacted at (504) 658-6020.
