The biggest threat to trees in Broadmoor? Thieves, apparently, after multiple residents discovered their trees had been yanked from the ground and stolen.

A woman said four olive trees were stolen from her home on Tuesday near the intersection of South Prieur and General Taylor streets, according to a report from WWL-TV. Another woman's magnolia trees were stolen a few blocks away, the report said.

"One day I'm picking up trash something looks different, and I see a huge hole," Karen Chustz, the owner of the magnolia trees, said to WWL-TV. "So somebody had stolen three of my trees right out of the ground and left two."

Residents said they're unsure what caused the thefts, but are digging through surveillance for clues.
