Two armed robberies were reported within four minutes of each other Tuesday night on Milan Street in Uptown New Orleans, officials said.

The first was reported at 9:46 p.m. on the 1300 block of Milan Street, according to a New Orleans Police Department preliminary log. A 28-year-old man was walking in the area when he was approached by a man armed with a gun, police said. The armed man allegedly demanded the victim’s money and then fled.

The second robbery occurred four minutes later at the intersection of Camp Street and Milan Street. A 54-year old woman was approached by an armed man, who allegedly grabbed her purse. A struggle ensued, and the woman was thrown to the ground, police said. The man then fled the area.
