METAIRIE —The U.S. Small Business Administration has selected four Jefferson Parish-based businesses as Louisiana Small Business Champion Award winners. According to the SBA, the awards highlight the impact of top entrepreneurs and small business owners from all 50 states and U.S. territories during National Small Business Week. One winner, public relations firm owner Betsie Gambel, received the top award in a five-state region in her category and was named Women in Business Champion of the Year.
In other categories, Vince Gremillion of RESTECH won Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year. D. Mauricio Diaz of Diaz Inc. was Louisiana Minority Small Business Champion of the Year, and Justin Hartenstein of AAC Enterprises/Oracle Lighting Louisiana was named small business exporter of the year.
On May 15, Louisiana Economic Development will host a reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge to honor the state winners. The Jefferson chamber will host a special luncheon on June 5 at Metairie Country Club to present awards to the local champions.
