The deadline for applications to be a charity partner of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic is Sept. 1. The application can be downloaded at ccc10k.com/charity-and-fundraising.
The 2016 Crescent City Classic 10K will be March 26. Through the “Run for It” charity program, the Crescent City Classic donates 100 bib numbers (guaranteed race entries) to each charity partner.
Official charity partners then recruit 100 runners and walkers who can commit to raising a minimum of $200 for their charity by race day.
“In 2015, we made over $500,000 for local charity and nonprofits around the greater New Orleans area. We’re hoping to bring that number to $750,000 in 2016,” said Hilary Landry, Crescent City Classic charity coordinator.
Last year’s charity partners included the Team Fox Louisiana (aka Kickin Parkinsons), the Kelly Gibson Foundation benefiting Youth Run NOLA, the New Orleans Musicians Clinic & Assistance Foundation, and Covenant House New Orleans.
