Michael Anderson, who has overseen the FBI’s operations in Louisiana for more than three years, has been named special agent in charge of the bureau’s Chicago office, the agency announced Monday.

Anderson, who joined the FBI in 1995, has served as special agent in charge of the FBI’s New Orleans Field Office since July 2012.

He oversaw a number of notable investigations during his tenure, including the corruption probe that landed former Mayor Ray Nagin behind bars.

Anderson’s replacement in New Orleans has not been named.
