A 22-year-old man was shot to death Friday night, New Orleans Police said.
Police said the shooting occurred around before midnight Friday. Officers arrived to the house on the 1700 block of King Drive around 12:05 a.m. finding the victim injured from multiple gunshot wounds.
He later died on the scene, police said.
Detectives said they believe after the man was shot he ran and stopped in the back yard of a house on the 1600 block of Mirabeau Avenue.
No further details were provided as the murder is still under investigation.
Authorities looking for suspect tied to Algiers area murder
New Orleans Police have an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Wellington Cornin in connection with Aaron Bannister's murder earlier this year.
Bannister, 26, was shot and killed May 23 in an apartment complex on the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive around 3:10 p.m., police said. When officers arrived at the scene Bannister was shot multiple times. He later died at a local hospital.
NOPD Detective Drew Deacon identified Cornin as a suspect during the investigation, police said.
Once Cornin is apprehended he will be booked with second degree murder, police said.
