Two armed robberies took place in an Uptown New Orleans neighborhood within 10 minutes of each other early Sunday morning, according a New Orleans Police Department report.

The robberies were reported on Hickory and Short streets and Jeannette Street, according to the report.

The police report states at 3:58 a.m. during the first robbery a woman was approached by an armed man with a limp on Hickory and Short streets. He hit the woman’s head, took her purse and left.

A few minutes later at 4:05 a.m. on the 7000 block of Jeannette Street two women were approached by an armed man. According to the report, he hit one of the victims in the head, took her belongings and left.
