Three separate sexual assaults perpetrated by unknown male suspects were reported on Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning, but police said they do not believe the crimes are connected.
In the first incident, a 36-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by an unknown man Uptown in the 1600 block of Foucher Street at around 8 p.m., according to a preliminary police log.
Another rape was reported at around 8:30 p.m. in Gentilly. Police said a woman was raped by a stranger near the corner of Cameron Boulevard and Filmore Avenue.
Another woman said she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man near the intersection of Interstate 10 Service Road and Read Boulevard in New Orleans East at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, according to police.
Officer Frank Robertson, a spokesman for the New Orleans Police Department, said investigators do not at this time see links between the crimes.
