St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools honor students of the year _lowres

The 12th-grade students of the year in the St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools are Lori Chen, of East St. John High School, who is also district student of the year, and Lamore Boudoin, of West St. John High School.

The School Board recognized these students, as well as those in eighth and fifth grades, during its March 17 meeting.

Program sponsor Reserve Telecommunications presented school winners with Amazon Kindles and district winners with Kindle Fires.

The eighth-graders are Ravyn Bazile, of LaPlace Elementary School; Tahyri Bolden, of Garyville/Mount Airy Math and Science Magnet School; Mai’Ron Carter, of East St. John Elementary School; Madison Duhe, of Emily C. Watkins Elementary School; Myles Gauthier, of West St. John High School; Ka’Meryal Kelly, of Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School; Jenna Necaise, of John L. Ory Communication Arts Magnet School, who is also district student of the year; and Kyra Thomas, of Fifth Ward Elementary School.

The fifth-graders are Tayah Cook, of East St. John Elementary School; Skylar Edwards, of West St. John Elementary School; Aleyda Gonzalez, of LaPlace Elementary School; Charles Harris, of Emily C. Watkins Elementary School; Lori Lennix, of Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School; Tobore Takpor, of John L. Ory Communication Arts Magnet School; Carlo Travis, of Garyville/Mount Airy Math and Science Magnet School, who is also district student of the year; and Emani Payne, of Fifth Ward Elementary School.
