Three sexual assaults reported in N.O.

New Orleans police officers were called to three sexual-assault scenes Friday morning.

About 5 a.m., officers responded to a call from a woman in her 20s who said she was sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance on Lakeshore Drive near Leon C. Simon Drive.

About 6:30 a.m., a 40-year-old woman said she had been sexually assaulted by two unknown men near Josephine and Danneel streets in Central City.

And about 10:30 a.m., officers went to the 600 block of Iberville Street, where a woman, 24, reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance.

Man robbed Friday in Village de l’Est

About 8:45 p.m. Friday, a 61-year-old man was robbed in the 5100 block of Vanchu Drive in eastern New Orleans.

The man said he was standing by his mailbox in the Village de l’Est neighborhood when he saw three men in a nearby car.

One man armed with a gun got out, took everything out of the victim’s pockets and fled, police said.

Man shot while trying to flee from robber

Just after 9 p.m. Friday, a 45-year-old man was shot during an armed robbery near Eagle and Marks streets, near Airline Highway.

The victim was sitting on a front porch when he was approached by a man with a gun.

The victim threw his wallet to the ground and tried to run, but the robber picked up the wallet and then shot the man, who was taken to the hospital by private conveyance.
