The adult summer reading program continues with CSI Night at The Library. You can learn the difference between a real C.S.I. (crime scene investigation) and the overly dramatic television shows. Join Special Agent Amy Ford of the FBI’s Evidence Response Team, Orleans Parish Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Rouse, and others to discuss evidence handling and more. This program will be held at the Algiers Regional Library from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Thursday, July 24.

GIRLS DO SCIENCE: Join us at the Rosa F. Keller Library and Community Center at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, for a program called “Move Over Einstein: Girls Do Science Too! ... and Technology, Engineering, and Math!” This program is a special presentation with a question and answer session by local members of the Association for Women in Science. They will explore famous women role models in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields, as well as discuss some of the obstacles and opportunities that can be found with a STEM career. This program is open to all teens and adults.

AFRICAN-AMERICAN RESOURCE CENTER: To wrap up its adult summer programs, the African American Resource Center is planning two very special events. On Thursday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. it will host a concert with Trenton Thomas, the hip-hop violinist, and guitarist Ed Barrett. On Wednesday, July 30, at 6:30 p.m., Chris Williams of The Vine Life will discuss and provide tastings of the symbol of summer sipping, rosé wine. The African American Resource Center is on the second floor of the Main Library.

All New Orleans Public Library programs and events are free and open to the public.
