Several robberies reported in Terrytown
Two men and one woman suffered minor injuries during one of three armed robberies reported in the space of a few minutes Friday night in Terrytown.
The victims were robbed shortly after 11 p.m. in the 600 block of Deerfield Road, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
No other information was immediately available.
In another incident, two men were robbed at gunpoint in the 2100 block of Euclid Street about 11:10 p.m., the JPSO said.
No injuries were reported.
In the third Terrytown holdup, a man and a woman were robbed in the 300 block of Ruby Street about 11 p.m. They were not injured.
Man robbed at gunpoint in Algiers
A man was robbed at gunpoint Friday evening in Algiers, New Orleans police said.
The 23-year-old man was in the 3100 block of Eton Street when he let a woman he didn’t know use his cellphone about 6 p.m.
She then pulled out a gun and demanded to keep the phone. She fired one shot at him as he fled. Police didn’t report any injuries.
Man cut Saturday morning in 6th Ward
A 25-year-old man reported being cut early Saturday morning after visiting his mother in the 6th Ward.
New Orleans police said the incident happened at Magic and North Galvez streets just after midnight, but the man didn’t realize he had been cut until he had gotten into a car.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released with a superficial wound. Police didn’t say exactly how the injury happened.
Five women jump lone man in Hollygrove
A 39-year-old man was attacked by five women early Saturday morning in Hollygrove, according to New Orleans police.
He was walking near Hollygrove and Edinburgh streets just after midnight when he got into a fight with one woman. The situation escalated when he was jumped by a total of five women, one of whom pulled out a knife and stabbed him, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
Armed home invasion reported in Algiers
A home invasion was reported Friday night in Algiers, New Orleans police said.
A 38-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were in a house in the 3900 block of Amanda Street shortly before midnight when three men kicked in the door.
One man, who had a gun, said, “Where it’s at?” before hitting the male victim in the head, according to police. The three robbers then fled.
Man, woman robbed in New Orleans East
A 19-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were robbed at gunpoint early Saturday in New Orleans East, police said.
The pair were leaving their car in the 7000 block of Crowder Boulevard about 12:15 a.m. when they were approached by two armed men.
One of the men demanded their money, and both men fled after the victims complied.
Restaurant robbed in New Orleans East
The Cafe Trinh Quyen in New Orleans East was robbed early Saturday morning.
Police said two masked men walked into the Vietnamese restaurant in the 4600 block of Alcee Fortier Boulevard about 12:30 a.m. and demanded that all the patrons get down on the floor.
The men took money from the patrons and cash from the register before leaving.
