Three shootings – one of them fatal – were reported overnight in New Orleans, police said.

Around 11:53 p.m. Monday, a 24-year-old man was shot near Republic Street and St. Bernard Avenue, the New Orleans Police Department said in a news alert. Officers found the victim at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

Around 12:18 a.m., a man was shot in the arm near North Claiborne Avenue and Canal Street, police said. The 18-year-old man was riding his hoverboard when two suspects approached him, asking him questions about the hoverboard. One of the suspects allegedly pulled out a semi-automatic weapon and demanded the hoverboard and other property, police said in a preliminary offense log.

The victim lunged at the gun and it discharged, striking the victim, police said. The suspects fled with the hoverboard, cash and a cellphone.

The victim walked to an area hospital, where he is being treated.

Finally, around 1:36 a.m., a Louisiana State Police trooper found an unidentified man shot inside a vehicle near North Dorgenois Street and Franklin Avenue, police said. The victim was transported to a hospital. No further details were available.
