New Orleans — Police are searching for three men who were captured on surveillance video early Sunday ambushing, beating and robbing a man who was walking with a female friend in the 400 block of Carondolet Street.

The victim and his companion can be seen in the video walking around 3:45 a.m. when a man approaches them and appears to position himself for a fight. Another man then comes up behind the victim and punches him in the head.

A third attacker joins in and the men take turns punching and kicking the victim while he is prone on the sidewalk. The robbers rifle through the man’s pockets then flee on foot. The woman was not injured in the attack.

Police describe the suspects as follows: 24 to 30-year-old man, roughly 5’1” tall, weighing 190 to 210 pounds, clean shaven with a green baseball cap, black T-shirt and black and white pants typically worn by cooks; 23 to 35-year-old man, roughly 6’1” tall, weighing 175 pounds, with dreadlocks, a white T-shirt and blue jeans; and a 30 to 35-year-old man, roughly 6’1” tall, thin build, bald head and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
