New Orleans — Drivers traveling through the Central Business District near the Mercedes-Benz Superdome should be prepared to face another set of road closures as the city prepares to host Super Bowl XLVII.
Beginning Saturday, the city will close river-bound Poydras Street between South Claiborne Avenue and LaSalle Street. Additionally, exit 234B from eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed. Lake-bound Poydras Street will remain open.
Anyone who works near the Superdome should take the Loyola Avenue exit from the Pontchartrain Expressway after the closure, officials said.
Additional traffic restrictions will be implemented as game day nears on Feb. 3.
