Bayou Bakery chef David Guas will open his second restaurant in the carriage house of the Old Naval Hospital on Capitol Hill, according to an article by the Washington Post.

Guas, a New Orleans native, has another Bayou Bakery location in Arlington, Virginia, and expects visitors to his new Capitol Hill location to be captivated by more than just the food.

"There's going to be a lot of cold coffees here," he chuckles. He imagines customers ignoring their Counter Culture coffees for a look at a Confederate machete mounted on the wall, or to marvel at the Civil War-era building's architectural details, including hay chutes for horses in the couch-filled Feed Room lounge, which originally served as a stables.
