A federal judge Thursday agreed to postpone the sentencing date of a Hollywood producer and two co-defendants convicted this spring of defrauding the state’s film tax credit program.

The producer, Peter Hoffman; his wife, Susan Hoffman; and New Orleans businessman Michael Arata now are scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 30.

A lawyer for Peter Hoffman requested the delay, saying his client had recently suffered a heart attack.

Federal prosecutors opposed a delay in sentencing.
