Two armed attackers beat a man and stole his car in the French Quarter in the early morning hours Monday.

Police said the 21-year-old victim was approached by two unknown armed men at the corner of Bourbon and Barracks streets around 4:11 a.m. They pulled him out of his vehicle, kicked him, stole his wallet, and then fled in the car.

Another apparent carjacking was reported less than an hour later in the Upper 9th Ward. Police said the victim was loading his vehicle when he was approached by three armed men in the 1300 block of Independence Street who demanded his keys, then fled.
