Two women stabbed on Bourbon Street

New Orleans police are looking for a woman who allegedly stabbed two people early Saturday morning at a nightclub on Bourbon Street, leaving one of them in critical condition.

A 35-year-old woman told police she was “partying” with a 22-year-old friend at the Funky 544 nightclub, 544 Bourbon, just before 2 a.m. when a strange woman bumped into her.

An argument ensued, and the woman began to yell profanities at the two victims, police said. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

The stranger, who also was at the nightclub with a friend, then pulled an unknown object from her boot and stabbed both victims multiple times before fleeing.

The 35-year-old woman said she realized she had been stabbed when she saw her friend fall to the floor. They were both taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. One of the women was listed in critical condition after undergoing surgery.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-7 black woman with a medium build. She was wearing a curly blonde wig, a black top with straps, black pants, and red and black boots, according to police.

Man shot Saturday afternoon in Algiers

A 31-year-old man was shot multiple times Saturday afternoon in Algiers, according to New Orleans police.

The man was in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive about 2:20 p.m. when he was shot. He was taken to a local hospital.

No other information was immediately available.

Man, woman wanted for two car burglaries

New Orleans police are looking for two people wanted in connection with two car burglaries in the Warehouse District.

Both burglaries happened Tuesday in the 1000 block of Constance Street, police said.

Video surveillance from a parking lot shows that about 1 a.m. a man and a woman broke into two cars, a 2003 Ford Mustang and a 2005 Suzuki.

The owner of the Mustang, a 34-year-old man, told officers the convertible’s rag top had been cut and a $200 radio taken from the dashboard. The 28-year-old female owner of the Suzuki said her car had been ransacked but that nothing was stolen.

The first suspect is described as a white man with a thin build who was wearing a black shirt and black shorts. The second suspect, described as a white woman with a thin build, was wearing a black shirt and white shorts.

Suspect sought for stealing bars of soap

New Orleans police are asking the public to help them find a man wanted for stealing several bars of soap Thursday from a Walgreens store.

The man, who was caught on video surveillance, walked into the store in the 1800 block of St. Charles Avenue about 8:30 a.m., police said.

He immediately began placing several bars of soap into a bag, then walked out without paying.

Man robbed at knifepoint in Uptown

A 22-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint Friday night in Uptown, New Orleans police said.

The man was in the 3100 block of State Street Drive about 11 p.m. when two youths, 16 and 15, robbed him of his iPad. The teenagers were later apprehended.

Police say man stabbed Friday in Gert Town

A man was stabbed by a strange woman Friday afternoon in the Gert Town neighborhood, New Orleans police said.

The 46-year-old man was arguing with the woman at South Carrollton and Washington avenues about 3:30 p.m. when she pulled out an unknown object and stabbed him.

He was taken to a local hospital.

Man robbed at gunpoint in New Orleans East

A man was robbed at gunpoint Friday evening in New Orleans East, according to police.

The 41-year-old victim was walking on Irby Street near Symmes Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. when he was approached by two men. One of the men pulled out a handgun, and both demanded money. They fled after taking $160 in cash.

Three men held up in Metairie on Saturday

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an attempted armed robbery early Saturday morning in Metairie.

Three male victims were all in the 3200 block of Belmont Place about 4 a.m. No one was injured.
