Five people were robbed at gunpoint in New Orleans on Wednesday and Thursday morning, including a 68-year-old woman standing at an Algiers bus stop.

The first hold-up happened in front of the bus stop at Pace Boulevard and Life Center Drive at around 5:45 a.m. Police said an unknown man approached the woman and took $200 from her.

Then near the corner of South Dorgenois Street and Tulane Avenue in Mid-City, a person put a gun to a 53-year-old woman’s back at around 4 p.m. and took her purse. Police arrested Charles Kennell, 17, for the crime.

In the Carrollton area at around 9:45 p.m., a man approached a 28-year-old woman at the corner of Dante and Zimple streets with a gun and took her purse and wallet.

Finally at around 4 a.m. Thursday in St. Roch, two women aged 33 and 43 in the 1400 block of Marigny Street lost their property to an unknown, armed man.
