The 2016 president of the board of directors of the West Jefferson Medical Center is Althea LaCour.
Other officers are Hilda Dufrene, first vice president; Carmen Blanchard, second vice president; Gail Becker, treasurer; Cheryl Hebert, recording secretary; Charlene Savoie, financial secretary; Jeannie Breaux, corresponding secretary; Raynell Bourgeois, historian; and Gerald “Woody” Woodhead, sergeant at arms.
The officers were installed by Dr. Frank C. Di Vincenti, vice chairman of the board of managers of West Jefferson Medical Center, during a December auxiliary gathering at the Four Columns reception hall.
The auxiliary also presented a $103,300 donation to the hospital. The donation was presented by Cheryl Hebert, outgoing president of the auxiliary board of directors, to Nancy R. Cassagne, chief executive officer of West Jefferson Medical Center.
The donation will be used to fund items and services, including pediatric anesthesia monitoring sensors, a blanket warmer cabinet in the imaging department, reiki therapy in the cancer treatment infusion center, patient comfort items and mobile screening diagnostics.
The event’s theme, “An Evening in Candy Land,” was carried out with peppermint bark favors wrapped in green, red, silver and gold ribbon. Tall red and white candy canes adorned the steps of the balcony, and red poinsettias served as both decor and door prizes against the backdrop of Christmas trees in white and gold. Candy canes graced each holiday place setting. The singing group Los Angeles Cantores performed.
