Ahead of Thursday’s concert by the popular singing group One Direction at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a section of Poydras Street adjacent to the Superdome has been designated as the secure drop-off and pick-up location for show patrons.

The area, located near Gate A, will be patrolled and regulated by police starting at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

SMG New Orleans also requests that concert patrons be picked up in the same Poydras Street location after the concert. The passenger pick-up lane will start at 9:30 p.m. on the river-bound side of Poydras Street.

SMG also wants area businesses and residents to be aware that high traffic volume is expected in the Superdome area before and after to the concert.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Superdome garages will open at 4 p.m. The venue will open at 5 p.m.

Lost children at the Superdome will be escorted to Room A in the Iberville 200 Club Lounge. That area will also serve as the designated parents room. The area is available to adults with and without tickets on a first come, first served basis.

For parents who do not have concert tickets, the Iberville 200 Level Club Lounge can be accessed through the exterior escalator between Gates C and D only.

Parents without concert tickets may not enter the performance area. They must meet concert-goers outside of the Superdome after the show.

Backpack, oversized bags and professional cameras are prohibited from the Superdome. All patrons are required to have a ticket, regardless of age.

Small poster-sized signs with no pole or sticks are allowed. At the request of One Direction, all gifts intended for the group will be collected at the door and donated to charity.
