Gunman robs man on Royal Street
New Orleans police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in an armed robbery that occurred Nov. 10 in the 2600 block of Royal Street.
A 59-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were walking about 3:15 a.m. when they were approached by a man who produced a pistol and demanded cash. The male victim gave up his wallet containing $5 while the woman told the man she did not have anything. He then fled on foot.
The robber is described as a black man, brown complexion, 20 to 30 years of age, 5-foot-9 with a stocky build. He was wearing a light-brown plaid long-sleeve shirt and light-colored pants.

Man wanted in theft at Home Depot store
The NOPD is asking for assistance in locating Jarrod Taylor, 33, wanted in shoplifting Monday at the Home Depot store at 1100 S. Claiborne Ave.
Taylor entered the store about 5:45 p.m. and placed two power drill kits into a shopping cart. He then walked past the cash register without paying and left the store, according to police.
A police officer and two store employees tried to stop Taylor, and a struggle ensued. He was apprehended, and the merchandise was recovered.
Taylor had a medical condition and EMS took him to the hospital. An arrest warrant for shoplifting was issued for Taylor in lieu of arrest.

Woman wanted for theft, credit card fraud
The NOPD has identified 37-year-old Danette Colbert as the person wanted in connection with a theft and access-device fraud.
About 4 a.m. Nov. 4, a 35-year-old man was walking on Bourbon Street when Colbert approached and invited him to hang out with her, police said. He agreed and they went to his hotel room in the 600 block of St. Charles Avenue.
The victim went to sleep and upon waking up discovered Colbert was gone, along with his Rolex watch valued at $4,000, his credit cards and $100 in cash.
Police said they later learned that Colbert had fraudulently used the victim’s credit cards about 20 times at businesses in the 4600 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Colbert for theft of $4,100, possession of stolen property and access-device fraud in the amount of $3,584.
Colbert also is wanted for intimidating, impeding or injuring witnesses.

Housekeeper booked in Kenner jewelry theft
A housekeeper was arrested in Kenner on Wednesday for allegedly stealing more than $25,000 worth of jewelry from her 71-year-old employer, according to Sgt. Brian McGregor, of the Kenner Police Department.
McGregor said the woman, Nixirela Rodriguez, 37, who cleans many houses in the area, is alleged to have swiped the key to the victim’s home safe.
She was discovered to have pawned several pieces of jewelry that belonged to the victim, McGregor said.
Rodriguez was arrested for felony theft in excess of $25,000. She admitted taking the key and pawning the jewelry, McGregor said.
She is being held without bail.
Man selling steaks robbed of his products
A 34-year-old man selling steaks out of a truck at Frenchmen and Hope streets in the 7th Ward was robbed about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said two men approached the truck, produced a gun and stole the steaks.
Three arrested in hunting camp break-in
Two Violet men were recently arrested for allegedly stealing shotguns, decoys and other property from a hunting camp in eastern St. Bernard Parish, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Hank Doherty, 19, and Lee Gonzales, 22, were booked with simple burglary in the break-in, which happened in late October. It’s unclear exactly when they were arrested.
The total value of the items taken was estimated at $7,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Branden Angelety, 34, was booked Tuesday with possession of stolen property for having an item stolen in the burglary.
Doherty is being held on $22,500 bail. Gonzalez was released on $10,000 bond and Angelety on $1,500 bond.
Man hospitalized after shot Wednesday night
A 34-year-old man was shot about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at Desire and North Derbigny streets, according to police.
The man was taken to a hospital. His condition was not provided.
Man stabbed Wednesday in 7th Ward
A 45-year-old man was stabbed about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday during a fight in the 2200 block of North Miro Street, police said.
The victim knew his assailant, police said.
Man shot in Hollygrove, taken to hospital
A 21-year-old man was shot in Hollygrove on Thursday evening, according to New Orleans police.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg about 5 p.m. in the 8200 block of Palm Street. He was taken to a hospital.
