Gymnastics coach in Kenner, Metairie arrested, accused of secretly filming juvenile change, possessing child porn _lowres

A gymnastics coach in Kenner and Metairie has been arrested and charged with video voyeurism and possession of child pornography.

After a search of the home of Brian Townsend, 43, on Thursday, the Kenner Police Department found images and videos of "juvenile females engaging in sex acts." Police also found secretly recorded video of a 9-year-old, and detectives discovered Townsend used his cell phone to to secretly film the juvenile changing clothes.

Townsend told police he works at the following places:

- Debby Dillehay Dance Studio, 3745 Florida Avenue, Kenner.

- Fusion Performing Arts Center, 8814 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie.

- Rhonda Edmunson School of Dance, 5050 W. Esplanade Avenue, Metairie.

- Helena Hosch School of Dance, 4631 W. Napoleon Avenue, Suite 1A, Metairie.

According to police, Townsend admitted to downloading child porn but said he's not sexually attracted to juveniles. He told investigators he has coached gymnastics for 30 years and has never touched a child inappropriately.

Townsend, whose employers have been notified of his arrest, remains in police custody. No bond has been set. His criminal charges include crimes of pornography involving juveniles (six counts), production of pornography involving juveniles (one count) and video voyeurism (13 counts).
