Update, 9:50 a.m. Sunday

Four people were shot in New Orleans during three separate incidents that happened within 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday morning, according to police.

The first shooting happened Saturday morning during an attempted mugging, police said, when a man and woman pulled a gun on a 47-year-old man in the 7th Ward and asked him for money.

The pair approached the victim just before 8:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Tonti Street. When the victim said he didn’t have any money, the man pulled a gun from his waistband and shot him.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital and the would-be robbers fled.

Later Saturday night, shortly after 10 p.m., police said a 36-year-old man was shot in the French Quarter after getting into an argument with a friend’s roommate.

The victim was in the apartment in the 600 block of Dumaine Street when the roommate asked him to leave. The victim became irate and refused, and the roommate pulled out a gun and shot him, police said.

The last shooting happened just before 4:30 a.m. when an 18-year-old woman and another man were shot in the 700 block of Canal Street during a fight that broke out amongst a group of men.

Police said both victims were shot during the brawl.
