  • ST. CLEMENT ANNIVERSARY: St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a Mass to be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at 4317 Richland Ave., in Metairie. Founding parishioners are invited to sit in reserved seating. The Mass will be followed by a reception in the gym. Fifty hours of adoration, leading up to SCR’s 50th anniversary Mass will be held from Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. in the church.   • FELLOWSHIP BANQUET: Pastor Support at New St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church will hold a fellowship banquet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the church, 1100 Branch-Joseph/Odeon Ave., in New Orleans.   • HURRICANE KATRINA REMEMBRANCE: The Rev. Emile “Buddy” Noel, pastor of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 531 Avenue A, Westwego, will dedicate the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Aug. 29, to the first responders and citizens of Westwego, in remembrance of Hurricane Katrina.   • RAMADAN CELEBRATION: About 15 Muslim inmates in the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office Re-Entry Program ended Ramadan with an Eid celebration presided over by Muslim Chaplain Eesa Archambeault. The inmates opened the gathering with an Eid prayer, followed by a sermon by Archambeault. The celebration ended with the inmates sharing refreshments. Invited guests were local Muslim community leaders Amin Chopin and Shem Shamsudin. Also participating in the event was Leo Hayden, director of OPSO’s Re-Entry Program.
