Three more armed robberies happened in New Orleans on Memorial Day, capping a long weekend in which 26 stick-ups and carjackings in total were reported to police.

A 25-year-old man putting out trash in the 2100 block of Cobblestone Lane in Algiers around 8 p.m. was approached by a gunman in a white Toyota Corolla who demanded his phone, police said in a log of major offenses. The victim handed the device over.

Then around 9:30 p.m., police said, a 32-year-old man working on his vehicle a few blocks away from the first robbery in the 30 block of Pinewood Court was approached by a man with a gun who demanded cash. The victim refused and the man went away, but then he returned and rifled through the victim’s vehicle for a wallet, police said. The robber then fled.

Shortly before 10 p.m., according to police, a 22-year-old man was approached by three males in a white vehicle near the corner of Villere and Annette streets in the 7th Ward. One of the vehicle’s occupants hopped out with a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet, cell phone and back pack, police said. The victim handed the items over.
