First hint of fall: Cold front expected to hit south Louisiana on Wednesday night, drop temps into low 60s _lowres

The National Weather Service is predicting that a "fairly strong cold front" will move through south Louisiana late Wednesday followed by a second surge of drier, cooler air during the day Thursday.

The NWS is expecting lows to dip into the upper 50s and low 60s starting Thursday and lasting throught the wekeend.

After a very hot summer, this is the first notable cold front to come through the area in about a month.
